Gaelbhratach

This year Scoil Mhuire have been very lucky to have been accepted onto the Gaelbhratach scheme. With this initiative, we will be working towards getting an Irish |Flag for our school.
The Gaelbhratach scheme was established in response to the need to create natural opportunities to speak Irish outside of the formal classroom setting. The scheme officially began in the 2012/13 school year at primary level and at secondary level the following year. In the years since, the scheme has worked with every kind of school in all corners of the country – from both urban and rural schools seeking to breathe new life into Gaeilge, to Irish-medium and Gaeltacht schools where it is spoken as the main language every day.
Already we have a Coiste in place and these girls are from 2nd to 6th class. Sometimes you will see them at the gate in the morning welcoming you in. You can also see what we’re up to on Instagram. Try talking to your child as Gaeilge. You’d be surprised how much you remember from your own school days or how much you will learn if you haven’t studied Irish before.
Bain Triail as! (Give it a go!)
